Ivy Avenue

"Ivy Avenue" was a group project with the goal of finding a niche in the market where a product could be needed. Our product was to produce a line for women who work from home and enjoy wearing sweats but also want to feel professional through their clothing. As a group we worked on gathering research for our market and target audience. With this information we were able to create a mood board and continue with the design progress to a finished product. We were able to display our business, along with our finished line at a fashion show at Salt Lake Community College.

Concept Board

Product Offerings: Chic loungewear basics and sets, created from quality materials local and created in small batches to ensure quality in all elements. Products include, but not limited to women’s blouses, tops, tanks, jackets, hoodies and bottoms - offered in sets as well as individual pieces.
Price Classification: Our goal as a company is to keep prices in a moderate range - around $100 for a set - for example a pullover and a bottom would be considered a set. Items with less material such as tanks would come in at a lower price point than $50 for the piece.
Target Consumer: Middle Class Females, ages 20-35
Competitive Advantage/Brand Benefits: Ivy Avenue has a unique competitive advantage in the field while producing these small batch item locally, we are able to dissect quality assurance across a higher count of items prior to retail ensuring a higher quality percentage for the consumer, striving to build not only trust with the brand, but quality and sizing of each item.

Final Looks

From this line we were asked to create one full look for our final. I chose the skirt and shirt combination.

Shirt Flat

Using Adobe Illustrate, I created the flats to show the details of design.

Using Adobe Illustrate, I created the flats of the skirt to show the details. These were used to create a Tech pack.

Patterns

Patterns for the shirt and skirt. Patterning was done using physical paper, starting with the basic bodice and shirt block.

First Sample

The first sample after patterning. The shirt was shortened and taken in at the side seams. The pockets were then positioned on the skirt.

Final Product

I was very happy with how this product turned out. I wear this outfit quite often.

The final line from the group project. It was set up to appear as a boutique, to allow people to interact with the designs and designers.
